Part 28: Night Desires

Missed any of the story? Part 27 is HERE and if you need to...Paul began this story at the end of December.

Not to sure what to make of the doctor's motivation to kidnap newborn children but I do know I can’t wait to see that doctor,  Ace, and Javier in court so we can put all this together.

Neither Marissa nor I got to much sleep as all we did was talk about how relieved we are to be getting Marcella back and trying to guess when will the test results will come back. It’s about 6am the next morning Marissa starts calling Jack and child protective services, who have legal custody of the children until the DNA proves identity. I again tell her to be patient. I'm sure it will be sometime today or tomorrow for certain and we will have Marcella home and safe in our arms. For the next four hours I don’t think I’ve ever had so much coffee waiting for the phone to ring.

It is becoming monotonous when finally at about 2:30 in the afternoon we get a call from CPS  to come down and claim our beautiful child. Again, we gather up our 3 older children and head child protective services offices quickly. While waiting in the reception area for the nurse to call our names, we cross paths with the couple who calmed me down at City Hall the day before. They looked happy as ever, the woman carrying a baby boy, They stopped and I asked them if indeed their baby was among the babies that the kidnappers took?

The mother had tears in her eyes and says, "Yes this is baby Landon. We are so grateful." as she moved the blanket from the hood of his infant seat so we could get a glimpse at him.

The father when into some unknown details on why the children may have been abducted in the first place. He said it was his understanding after talking to detectives and attending the doctor's arraignment this morning.  This whole thing has something to do with newborn babies and the vaccination schedule that hospitals, doctors and the pharmaceutical industry have them on. He didn’t know much but he just said the doctor had some kooky theory that his own little boy had that Autism disorder from the way the government administered vaccinations to him when he was younger.

We really didn’t get to much of what he was saying. Well,  I didn't, that's for sure so we just congratulate them on getting their son Landon back and continue to wait for our reunion with Marcella in the waiting room. I wish I would have been at his arraignment had I have known. I'm silently cursing Jack for not letting me know it was happening.

Right now what is important is getting Marcella back and then we can delve into what possible connection there is between the kidnappings, the vaccination schedule and autism. Truthfully, I could care less why this man did it. I want him to spend the rest of his life in prison or give me 5 minutes alone with him. Either would work for me.

The lack of sleep the night before is catching up to me and I start to dose off in the waiting room, The receptionist finally calls for us to follow her. I don’t think I've ever seen a family as excited as we are,  anticipating seeing Marcella again.  We walk behind her into another small room similar in size to the one across the street at city hall.

She tells us the nurse will be right with us as Marissa is losing her patience again. Then a few moments later a doctor, nurse and a police officer ask us both for our identification.  We oblige,  they look them over briefly and hand them back to us as the doctor nods his head to the nurse as if to say everything checked out. They all leave the room again and I call out, "Hey! Can we just have our baby back?" in as calm as a voice as I could. No sooner than I had said that,  the nurse opens the door with baby Marcella wrapped in a blanket asleep as we all lunged to hold her.
